The image seems completely real & solid but when you try and touch it your finger appears to go right through it.  Objects can be easily changed (it comes with a 'frog' as in the photo) and the same incredible effect will be projected.  

The 3-D mirascope consists of tow parabolic mirrors that are facing each other.  The top mirror has a hole in the enter where the hologram effect takes place.  By setting an object in the bottom parabolic mirror it suddenly is projected as a solid object in the opening of the top mirror (VERY COOL!)
